HUNTERS HOLLOW HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
MAINTAINING THE ENTRANCES MLG&W bills for lighting and water irrigation of our entrances at Dexter Rd. and Cordova Rd. average approximately $ 1,300.00 per year.
The maintenance of our entrance signs, plantings, trimming, and general upkeep is approximately $3,000.00 annually. This is the largest cost we incur annually due to our decision to use a commercial lawn company to maintain our entrances. This work was bid in the summer of 2010 and awarded to Grounds Crew, a local professional lawn care company. The work was rebid in 2013 and was again awarded to Grounds Crew. Most recently the work was bid in 2016 and was awarded to Angel's Garden. We continue to believe in maintaining our two entrances properly, as volunteer maintenance just wasn’t enough. Without enough memberships each year, this will be the first expense we will cut.
Stopped the zoning and construction of the eleven (11) three story town houses on the south side of Cordova Road at Fox Trace Drive. Stopped 2 streets from being cut in to run from Dexter to the curve at Hunters Rest and Fox Trace Drive and another to run from Dexter at Teal Wing north of Killdeer. HHHA reviews all proposed applications for construction and businesses within the legal limits of our neighborhood. We have been downtown on more than one occasion to fight some of the plans.
SPEED BUMPS INSTALLED ON FOX TRACE AND HUNTERS REST We have petitioned the city to install speed bumps on Fox Trace and Hunters Rest due to the high volume of speeding traffic on these roads. This poses a safety risk to our children and to our streetside property. Based on a traffic study conducted by the city, consideration is being given to the requested installation. If we are approved to get the speed bumps, a petition will be presented to residents for signing. The Homeowners Association continues to explore possible options to reduce speeding on Fox Trace Drive and Hunters Rest.
Help to enforce the covenants that apply to all residences in the Hunters Hollow neighborhood. These covenants are part of the property obligations and are not something that HHHA created. HHHA contacts residents when notified of a violation and seeks to obtain voluntary correction of the violation. If voluntary compliance is not obtained, HHHA retains attorney’s to write letters and if necessary take legal action, all to protect your property values through enforcement of our restrictive covenants.
Assist the Neighborhood Watch program. This program has been given special recognition by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept., the Commercial Appeal, and other organizations. This program maintains the security flag and lost pet system at both entrances.
Over the years we have sponsored many special events throughout the years such as Santa Claus visit to homes, Yard of the Month, Christmas Lighting Contest, 4th of July party and parade, Neighborhood Picnic, Publish Newsletter and Neighborhood Directory.
