From our new HOA Board President, Brian Foley…

Recently, our previous HOA Board President, George Bolds, stepped down from that position and remains an active member of the Board. The remaining board members voted and I was selected for the honor of leading the board and the Homeowner's Association.

My wife, Rebecca, and I have lived in Hunters Hollow since 2015. We are very fond of this neighborhood and enjoy everything that makes Hunters Hollow so special. I like to think that everyone who lives here is equally proud that our neighborhood is clean and well-maintained, relatively quiet, and that people feel safe inside and outside their homes. We have a great relationship with the local law enforcement agencies and our neighbors look out for each other. It doesn't matter if someone is a homeowner or rents their home, these qualities make our neighborhood worth living in, and worth protecting.

It may come as no surprise that our HOA Member dues are what pays for maintaining our neighborhood, our collective property values, and the sense of pride we can have when we tell people we live in Hunters Hollow. If you're the kind of person who likes facts and numbers, the services we receive for light and water at our two entrances, the power, internet and upkeep of our SkyCop cameras to help deter and prosecute criminal activity, and the ability we have to host a digital presence where any neighbor can find answers 24/7, are all funded by HOA member dues. Compared to other neighborhoods in the Cordova area, many of which charge hundred if not thousands of dollars per year for their dues, our are $40 per year. Please note that all services provided by members of the board are VOLUNTEER driven and we do the necessary work out of love for our neighborhood. PLEASE consider using the Dues link above to join the HOA for the 2025 year.

I would like to ask everyone to think about what YOU would like this neighborhood to be able to do for it's residents, if we had a majority participation in a voluntary HOA membership? I think every idea is worth hearing, and we can only start to act upon them when everyone decides to do their part!

I am available to discuss any issues regarding Hunters Hollow and/or the Homeowner's Association with neighborhood residents. I intend to continue to promote membership in HHHA and to protect and further the interests of the residents in our neighborhood. I encourage each resident to contact me about any issue(s) relating to our neighborhood.  My mobile number is 901-722-1496, or email me at:   foleybrian@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Brian Foley

SECURITY CAMERAS INSTALLATION:

Neighbors, the security cameras have been operational since 2021 at our two entrances and include license plate readers along with conventional cameras with the blue lights on the camera enclosures. Funding for the cameras comes from a city of Memphis grant and the Hunters Hollow Homeowners Association. The images of vehicles and individuals entering or exiting either of the two neighborhood entrances is preserved for a period of time and can be accessed by MPD personnel in the event of reported criminal activity in our neighborhood.

In considering why we would need the cameras, it is noted that our Hunters Hollow neighborhood is generally a safe place with a low rate of criminal activity. A review of the past few years reflects that there have been instances of theft from parked cars (usually at night) and from open garages and storage sheds. There have been a few instances of burglaries of homes while owners were away. There have been a few police responses to domestic violence calls some of which resulted in arrests. Disturbingly, there have been at least two instances of shots being fired in our neighborhood in the past couple of years. It seems likely that much of the above described criminal activity was perpetrated by individuals who do not live in our neighborhood. It is the consensus of the Homeowners Association Board that the cameras have provided some deterrent effect and provide police with evidentiary assistance.

SPEED CUSHIONS INSTALLED ON FOX TRACE AND HUNTERS REST!

The City of Memphis installed speed cushions in the fall of 2021 on Fox Trace Drive and Hunters Rest Lane. A previously conducted Memphis Traffic Survey determoined that during the survey period an average of 1,000 cars per day travelled on Fox Trace/Hunters Rest. Based upon the volume of traffic and the amount of speeders the City provided a petition listing every residence in the subdivision. Residents (one per household) were asked if they want or don't want the speed cushions installed by the City. A Representative of the Homeowners Association  obtained over 300 signatures in favor of installation of the proposed speed cushions. The petition was submitted to and accepted by Memphis City representatives. Installation of the speed cushions was completed in late fall of 2021. The installed speed cushions appear to have slowed traffic along Fox Trace Drive/Hunters Rest Lane. The recent installation of Bike Lanes should also increase caution of drivers on Fox Trace Drive.
